The piece of the internet dedicated to Amber Chase.
Yes, this is more uncomfortable than having everyone sing “happy birthday” to me. Nevertheless, if you’re here, welcome.
I bring a breadth of food knowledge, a hearty work ethic, and a very high gluten tolerance to my journalism. I’ve worked for print and digital publications handling everything from editorial to social media to print delivery. My two homes have been Charleston, South Carolina and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
In a past life, I co-owned a bakery, starting my mornings at dawn and returning home covered in flour and coffee grounds. This said, I know firsthand the grit it takes to push a movement and brand concept forward and strive to put my whole self behind the ideas I believe in. Even as a writer, I continue to work and volunteer alongside my favorite entrepreneurs in town to remain in touch with the realities of the industry.
My commitment is to help chefs and professionals articulate their personal stories, shift restaurant goers to become cherished regulars, and continually engage with food education, sustainability, and industry advocacy.
My other full time gig is being mom to a kid who will no doubt grow to be my superior.
